MERIDIAN — Durwood Koonsman has announced his candidacy for reelection to the office of Bosque County Commissioner Precinct 2. Koonsman is a Democrat finishing his third term as commissioner. “My working relationship with the people in my precinct has been very good both for them and the county,” said Koonsman. “I have spent my entire life in beautiful Bosque County and know most of the landowners in my precinct. Being a poor county with no industry to produce tax income has not stopped the landowners from donating road materials without any cost to the county. “If elected I will keep on making our county roads better. I am proud to have a very good work crew, that includes Bobby Welborn, Glen Gosdin, Kenneth Townley, Terry Townley and Randy Lane.” Koonsman also spoke of his family saying, “I have a wife, Tena Koonsman, and four wonderful children, Nina, Sherry, Annette, and Rickey and their families, three of whom live in Meridian and one who lives in Speegleville. “Our family has deep roots in the prettiest county in the State of Texas.”
