CLIFTON — Clifton Ministerial Alliance will hold its annual food drive on Friday, Nov. 20, with the collection site at First National Bank of Bosque County located at 1203 North Avenue G in Clifton. Donations will be received from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. All donations will go to the Clifton Food Pantry. A representative from the ministerial alliance said they are hoping to collect over 30,000 pounds of food on Friday. Several organizations and businesses are participating in the effort including the Clifton schools and David’s and Brookshire’s grocery stores. The need for food has been immense this year, and the food bank has been distributing about 5,000 pounds per month. All non-perishable food items are needed including canned goods, cereals, baby food, peanut butter, dry beans, rice, flour, sugar, corn meal and pasta. The Clifton food drive is a part of the annual Food For Families drive sponsored by KWTX. Food For Families is the largest one-day food drive in Texas and includes 19 collection sites in nine Central Texas counties. For a listing of collection sites visit <www.kwtx.com/10cares>.
