CLIFTON — Clifton police arrested 22 persons following traffic stops and warrant service during the month of October, according to a report from Clifton Police Chief Steve Adcock, presented to Clifton City Council on Nov. 10. There were 23 offenses/incidents investigated during the month, including: assault causes bodily injuries (1), assault threaten bodily injury (1), assault by contact (2), deliver or offer dangerous drug (2), obstruction or retaliation (1), DWI with child under 15 years of age (1), accident involving damage to vehicle (1), public intoxication (2), theft (2), unattended death (1), possession of marijuana (2), indecency with a child (1), Minor in consumption of alcohol (3), possession of narcotic paraphernalia (2), minor in possession of tobacco (1). There were 22 arrests, including: assault causes bodily injuries (1), assault threaten bodily injury (1), assault by contact (2), deliver or offer dangerous drug (2), obstruction or retaliation (1), accident involving damage to vehicle (1), public intoxication (2), possession of marijuana (2), indecency with a child (1), Minor in consumption of alcohol (3), possession of narcotic paraphernalia (2), minor in possession of tobacco (1), theft (3). The department registered 15 dogs in November. The department had approximately 50 animal control calls during the month. The department issued 64 citations and 118 warnings with a total of 132 stops. Officers logged approximately 176 miscellaneous calls. Report Of Other Activities The department trained all officers on the emergency notification system. The officers have the capability to activate the system from within patrol cars. The department worked security at FallFest and the street dance. The first Cubs United meeting was held for Clifton fifth-grade students on Oct. 16. Adam Sowder and Chief Adcock presented a program at the fifth-grade camp on Oct. 29 on the dangers of drinking and driving. The chief and Officer Jeff Shasteen attended an ENS meeting in Waco on Oct. 7, at the Central Texas Council of Governments. Chief Adcock met with the Lt. and Capt. of DPS on Oct. 21 to discuss finding office space for two troopers stationed in Clifton. Adcock reported that the state has not yet made announcements on the awarding of vehicles.
