 Clifton Independent School District Board of Trustees will meet in a called session Tuesday, March 23, at 5:30 p.m., to take action on a recommendation for a new Athletic Director, following an executive session which is on the agenda regarding personnel.

CLIFTON — January is National Blood Donor Month and on Jan. 26, the Mayor of Clifton will be reading and presenting a proclamation to that effect to kick off the community blood drive at noon, at the Clifton Civic Center, 403 W. 3rd.

Lt. W.D. Nuckols Bosque County Collection will honor veterans of World War II and Pearl Harbor on Friday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. After a short program honoring Pearl Harbor survivors and WWII veterans, refreshments will be served.

Presbyterians Begin Church Renovation Print E-mail

 Clifton’s First Presbyterian Church, located at 211 S. Ave. G, will be taking on a new look in the weeks to come. Construction has begun to remodel and enlarge the current church facility. The last church services prior to the construction project were held on Nov. 15.

VOLUNTEERS STAFF THE FOOD DRIVE — Friday afternoon, a slew of volunteers were on hand at the Clifton Food Drive to help unload cars, sort food, and box it for the Food Bank — including a group of Girls Scouts.  — Staff Photo By Carol Spicer The annual Food For Families drive took place on Friday at First National Bank of Bosque County-Clifton, with 21,136 pounds of food being donated. The food drive last year brought in over 25,600 pounds, and Dr. Jerry Smith noted that the need this year is greater.

Soup and Sandwiches For Sale Print E-mail

 The Nellie Pederson Civic Library of Clifton will hold its annual book sale on Friday (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and Saturday (8 a.m.to noon), April 9 and 10. Donations will be accepted for any media type--books, videos, computers, printers, etc. The sale will be in the large room of the Clifton Civic Center.

As part of the fundraiser, the members of the Clifton Civic Improvement Society and volunteers will provide soup and sandwiches from 11:00-1:30 at the Civic Center. Soup and sandwiches will cost $3 each or $6 for both soup and sandwiches. Drinks will cost $1 each. 

Support the library by coming by the Civic Center during your long garage-sale efforts to eat a sandwich and a bowl of soup. All proceeds will go to the library for general operation of the library and for new books. This effort is a primary fund-raiser for the library, so any donations will certainly be appreciated.
