Funeral services for Peta Joyce Shaffer, 77, of Laguna Park, will be held in Frost on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009. Interment will be at the Frost Cemetery.
Peta Joyce McElroy was born on April 22, 1933, in Frost, the duaghter of Willburn and Allie McElroy.
She attended schools in Frost. She lost both of her parents in an automobile accident when she was 11 years old.
On Sept. 17, 1971, she married H.B. Shaffer, Jr. The couple had two children. They lived in Dallas for 30 years, and in Laguna Park for 30 years. She had lived at Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home for the past 14 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and cooking. She loved God and all His children.
Preceding her in death were her brother, F.D. McSween, and sisters, Allie Fox and Frances Edmonds.
Survivors include her husband, Bud Shaffer of Laguna Park; son, Michael Urbanski and wife, Sandy; daughter, Vicki Rich and husband, David; sister, Barbara Boaz and husband, Bobby; and grandchildren Rony Quinlan and Amy Wright, and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
