 Funeral services for Georgia Elizabeth Gustafson, 82, of Cranfills Gap were held Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at St Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap, with the Rev. C.A. Mangham of First Methodist Church officiating, assisted by Pastor Anne Koopmann of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Burial was in Old Rock Church Cemetery at Cranfills Gap.

Georgia Anderson was born July 21, 1927, in Clifton, to George E. and Lizzie Evans Anderson. She passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009.

She graduated from Clifton High School in 1944.

She married Burton Gustafson on July 7, 1946, at the Lutheran parsonage in Cranfills Gap. She and Burton operated the Midway Grocery after their marriage. When they closed the store in 1975, she was employed at Wilson Building Materials in Clifton until she retired.

She was an active member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, and a member of WELCA and held various offices in the church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary where she held the office of Sgt. At Arms. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, and enjoyed dressing up for their monthly meetings and fellowship.

For many years, she and her friend, Iris Hodges, traveled to many places. They always attended church together and spent many hours after church playing cards. She cared for everyone. She delivered food to senior citizens so they could enjoy a meal together at the Community Center.

She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and was a member of the Cranfills Gap quilting group., which "quilted the most beautiful quilts Bosque County has ever seen," said a family member.

One of the most notable trips she made was when the town of Cranfills Gap went to Las Vegas. She became the spokesperson for Cranfills Gap, appearing on television numerous times, and on the Internet site U Tube. She also appeared in a skit on the Jimmy Kimmel Live TV Show.

She never met a stranger and was friendly to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Burton; daughters, Linda Sue and Patricia Ann; parents, George and Lizzie Anderson; and half-brother Clifford T. Dyer.

Survivors include her grandson, Matthew Linn of Spring; brother and sister-in-law Shelby and Mary Anderson of Clifton; and loving friend and care-giver Iris Hodges.

Pallbearers were Guy Finstad, Owen Carlson, Joe Borden, Jesse Vasquez, Don Humphries, and Ray Sorrels.

Memorials may be made to Rock Church Restoration Fund, Charlene Tergerson, RR 2, Meridian 76665.

Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
