Meridian host district track meet

By Brett Voss.

After the Meridian boys and girls track and field teams produced a solid performance at the newly-named Jacket Relays, both teams raised the level of the competition by competing in Class 2A meets at Keene and Crawford. Although neither team collected the number of medals and scored the amount of points they have become accustomed to at both meets, it pushed the Jackets and Lady Jackets to raise the bar on their performances.

The Game started out as a Pitchers duel as Zach Potts was able to match McGregor’s Allison with zeroes for the first two innings. The Cubs offense picked up the pace in the third inning. The rally started with two outs when Brayden Wise reached on an error. Back-to-back walks would load the bases for Hunter Harris. Harris would knock in the first run of the game with an infield single.
