Marian Glenn Pruitt

Graveside services for Marian Glenn Pruitt, 90, of Glen Rose were held Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Georges Creek Cemetery. Marian Glenn was born on Dec. 12, 1923, in Bluff Dale to Ralph and Mae Watson Glenn. She passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She married Billy Burman Pruitt, Dec. 29, 1943, in Glen Rose. Formerly a resident of Meridian, she moved to Glen Rose about 6 months ago. She was a member to the First Baptist Church in Meridian. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a brother, Billy Glenn. Survivors include sons, John Pruitt and wife, Kathy, of Glen Rose; Clayton Pruitt of Meridian; grandchildren, Megan Bise of Glen Rose and Clayton Pruitt of Meridian; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Wiley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mildred A. Patterson

Mildred A. Patterson, 96, of the Lutheran Sunset Ministries, passed at June 18, 2014, at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, June 23, 2014 at St. Olaf Old Rock Church at Cranfills Gap with Pastor Jean Iker officiating. Interment was at Old Rock Church Cemetery. Mildred Anderson was born on May 20, 1918, at Cranfills Gap, the daughter of Minnie Larson Anderson and Albert Anderson. She attended the Boggy School through the 12th grade. On Nov. 13, 1937, she married Jefferson Darius Patterson at the Cranfills Gap parsonage. The couple had two children. Survivors include her daughters Marilyn Gale Johnson and Brenda Kay Sakowski; grandchildren, Christopher and Jeff Sakowski, Lori Hanson, and Mark Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Johnson and Connor Johnson.

James White

James “Mike” White, 66, of Joshua went to be with the Lord and his parents, Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Funeral services were held Friday at Mount Olivet Chapel with interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery. James “Mike” was born Feb. 21, 1948, to the late James Clifford and Irene White. He was a professional snake handler for many years. James “Mike” was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He had a love for fishing, arrow head hunting, and golfing. James “Mike” always said he was a soldier for the military but a warrior for Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Linda White; children, Tina Williams and husband, Teddy, Angela Smith, Jamie Lewis and husband, Greg, Peni Kimpton and husband, Kerry, Heather Sams and husband, Tyler, Benton White and Jordan, Chance Marlar and wife, Emily, and Candice White; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and Reba. Greenwood Funerals-Cremation was in charge of arrangements.
