Funeral services for Carol Jean Anz, 74, of Clifton were held Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clifton with Pastor Alicia Thompson-Summers officiating. Interment was at Clifton Memorial Park. Carol Jean Gustafson was born on Dec. 2, 1939, in Meridian, to Cameron Gustafson and Myrtle Bean. She attended school in Cranfills Gap and graduated in 1960. She married Henry Anz on Aug. 19, 1961, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Cranfills Gap. The couple had two children. She had lived at Cranfills Gap and Clifton and had worked at Clifton ISD for 38 years. She had attended St. Olaf Lutheran Church were she was confirmed and baptized; and she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a caring, loving, and hard working woman. She loved her job at CISD and took great pride in it. She was a devoted mother and grandma and loved her family very much. Carol was always a jokester who loved having fun and kidding around with people. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Anz; a son, Charles Anz; brother, Cameron Gustafson Jr.; and sisters, Mary and Linda. Survivors include her son, James Anz, and daughter-in-law Toni Anz of Clifton; three grandchildren, Megan Dendy, Charles Anz, and Chelsea Anz; and sisters, Helen Dietiker of Clifton and Martha Gustafson. Pallbearers were CR Sinderud, Terence Sinderud, Jay Smith, Fred Clement, JD Godby and Dude Dietiker. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
