Funeral services for Anthony Jerome Gee were held Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Clint Holloway officiating. Interment was at Oswald Cemetery. Gee was called to meet the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Providence Hospital. He was born on Aug. 9, 1955, in Clifton, to Laverne Sadler Ballard. He attended Clifton High School. He united with Shiloh Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. William Lott and served until his health failed him. God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arm around him and whispered come with me. With tearful eyes we watched him suffer, and we watched him fade away. Although we love him dearly, we couldn’t make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands are put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Jerome was united in marriage to Geveva Fisher. He raised one stepson, Christopher, whom he loved dearly. He was employed at Brown and Root for many years and later at the Lime Plant. He enjoyed spending time with his friends, Hattie Dooley, E.B. Sedberry and Wallace Sedberry and Wanda Sedberry. He loved his grandson who was the apple of his eye. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, a stepson, and a grandson; his mother, Laverne Ballard; a sister, Denise Turner (Ron); a mother-in-law, Christine Fisher; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Pallbearers were: Elton Watley, Bobby Pollard, Micheal Allen, Archie Watley, Willie Ray Degrate, and Clyde Pollard. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Bible, Raydell Watley, Charles Oliver, Wallace Sedberry, Ryan Davenport, and Thomas Oliver Sr. The family thanks everyone who prayed and supported them, Providence Hospital ICU, and Dr. Elwell. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
