Funeral services for Roger Lee Brown, 60, of Turnersville, were held Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Turnersville Tabernacle with Mike Barron officiating. Brown passed away from this life peacefully at home on June 27, 2014. He was born in Jefferson County, Birmingham, AL to William and Coleta Wallace Brown. He was raised in a military family, traveling extensively around the United States and Germany. In 1975, he joined the Navy and spent three years aboard the U.S.S. Midway aircraft carrier. He received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Ribbon, Aviation Specialist Wings, Good Conduct Medal. On June 16, 1985, while stationed in Kingsville, TX he was involved in a motorcycle accident. After being discharged from the Navy as a AME2 (E5) he moved to Turnersville. He never lost his love for Harley Davidson motorcycles. Survivors include his son, Juddson Brown Culpepper; parents, William and Coleta Brown; brother, Gary and wife, Kim of Valley Mills; sister, Debra and partner, Steve of Turnersville; and several nieces, nephews, and many cousins. Memorials may be made to Turnersville Community Center or White Hall Baptist Church.
