Myrna Suzanne Roedell

Myrna Roedell was born in Dallas, on Oct. 19,1937 and passed away April 29, 2014. There was a Rosary service at Thursday, May 1, 2014 and a Funeral Mass Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Glen Rose. Following her cremation, Myrna will be taken to Merced, CA to be buried with her daughter Mary Elizabeth Roedell. Myrna served in the U.S. Navy as a radiomen where she met her husband “Rip.” She worked for Lamb Chevrolet in National City, CA. and Retired from the California State Board of Equalization. She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association. Long-time member of Women’s Aglow in Merced, CA. Long-time member of St. Pius X in Chula Vista, CA, Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Merced, CA. & St. Rose of Lima in Glen Rose, TX. As a nine-year member of St. Rose of Lima, she was a religious education and confirmation teacher. She was the minister of the Lectors. Living in Meridian these past nine years, she worked as a Meals on Wheels coordinator and started many Bible Studies. Hobbies included: reading, painting, Bible study, worshipping, walking, traveling and collecting and cataloging memories and pictures for the family. Myrna celebrated every single holiday including Ground Hog Day. She was famous for sending cards for every occasion. Myrna was preceded in death by her Parents Marvin and Dolly Swindle; sister, Marcy Jo Lindsey; brother, Patrick Swindle and daughter, Mary Roedell. She is survived by her husband Leon “Rip” Roedell; children: Patrick Roedell, Greg Roedell and Suzy Roedell and grandchildren: Alicia Clarke, Ian Roedell, Ashlee Roedell, Aaron Roedell, Brenna Roedell, Connor O’Brien-Roedell and Ray O’Brien-Roedell; great-grandmother of Marvin Clarke to be born July 2014; sisters, Melissa West and Pamela Avance, and brother: Dr. Michael Swindle.
