Graveside services for Mildred Conrad Wise were held Saturday, April 26, 2014, in Clifton Cemetery. She passed away on April 19, 2014. She was born on Aug. 6, 1915 in Bosque County to parents W.F. and Josie Rhodes Conrad. She grew up in Bosque County and married George M Wise, Sr. on Nov. 30, 1933. She spent most of her life growing up and living on a working ranch near Rhome, TX. On March 1, 2008, she moved into the Sunset Home in Clifton where she quickly adapted and made many friends. She was always a creative person, and especially loved her crocheting, having made literally hundreds of Afghans, as well as many other crocheted items. She was especially proud to give each of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren at least one hand made Afghan. Like her mother, she never wanted you to leave her empty handed, no matter how trivial the gift might be. Always very pleasant and doing what she could to make life easier for her loved ones. And, until the end, always loving and caring. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by both parents; her husband, George Wise, Sr., son, George Wise Jr.; daughter-in-law, Kay Wise; and grandson, Colton McBride. She is survived by one brother, Thomas Conrad of Meridian; daughter, Patricia Wise Davis and husband, Don of Waco; daughter, Becky Wise Autry of Saginaw; son, Bill Wise and wife, Judy of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
