The newly reformed Central Texas Youth Fair kicked off with part one last week in Clifton, open to Bosque County youths. Differing from previous fairs, there will be a second open fair in September which will include youths from the surrounding counties, which will also offer jackpot shows. For 82 years, the Central Texas Youth Fair has been held as one week-long event, most recently in June, along with a rodeo and carnival. This year, the association decided to break the fair into two parts in an effort to help the kids only have to raise one animal – especially if they are showing in some of the other larger fairs during the winter months such as Houston, San Antonio and Fort Worth.
