A graveside service for Hubert David Dunham Jr., of Valley Mills, was held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Clifton Memorial Cemetery officiated by Chaplin Steve Durbin. Dunham passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at Goodall-Witcher Hospital. He was born on Aug. 20, 1933 in Reagan, to Hurbert David and Celeste Collins Dunham. He grew up in the Waco area and attended Waco High School. On Nov. 2, 1964, he married Verl Marie Coonfield. The couple had four children He lived in Dallas and Houston before moving to Clifton in 1977, then to Valley Mills in 1999. He was a respiratory therapist at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, St. Lukes Children’s Hospital in Houston, and at Goodall-Witcher Hospital in Clifton. He served in the Navy. He enjoyed gardening, his grandchildren, watching sports, and loved animals. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verl Marie in 2011; and his parents. Survivors include two daughters, Celeste Knight and husband Ray of Lake Worth; Marschell Allen and husband Ronald of Clifton; two sons, David Dunham of Robinson and Harry Dunham and wife, Oiythip of Sugarland; two brothers, Horace Dunham of Nevada and Herschell Dunham and wife, Laurie of New Mexico; 10 grandchildren, Kris Tribe; Tiffany, Anthony, Camen and Patrick Dunham all of Houston; Alex Knight of Lake Worth; Ashley Engel and husband, Aaron of Lake Worth; and Justin, Faith, Emily Allen all of Clifton; and one great-grandchild, Evan Freed of Houston; along with several nieces and nephews.
