Roy George Treadaway

Roy George Treadaway, 87, of Laguna Park, passed away on Jan. 24, 2014, in Clifton. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Colorado City TX. Treadaway was born on May 14, 1926, in Miles City to Henry Bordon and Elsie McClure Treadaway. He attended Stephenville Jr. College. On Dec. 22, 1946, he married Mary Mann Sarent in Slaton TX. He had lived in Texas, Mississippi, California, and Okinawa. He was a builder and was attached to a USN Construction Battalion at one time. He served during WWII aboard the USS Franklen. Then returned from the USN Seabee and worked as a handyman locally. He was a Mason. He worked for many years with the West Shore Civic Association. He enjoyed reading and was a happy person. He was helpful to those in need and worked with Meals on Wheels for many years. Survivors include his wife, Mary S. Treadaway; a son, Marcus A Treadaway of Wichita KS; a daughter, Georgane L. Vann of Laguna Park; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
