Janice Joann Tankersley

Janice Joann (Turner) Tankersley, age 78, of Waco passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at the Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Valley Mills Cemetery under the direction of Foss Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Valley Mills First Baptist Church. Janice was born on Sept. 27, 1935, in Bosque County. She was the daughter of Frank and Ruby (Odle) Turner. She grew up in the Valley Mills area. She married C.B. Tankersley in January of 1953. Janice had worked for Sherwin Williams as an interior decorator where she had many loyal customers. She retired in May of 1995. She loved to play bridge and Keno. She was always cooking for everyone, but most of all she loved to watch the grandkids play sports, she was their most faithful fan. She was able to watch her great grandkids play baseball, softball and swim. They will always be grateful to have had her as there Mimi. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Porter and a brother-in-law, Dick Porter. Survivors include her son, Steve Tankersley and wife Brenda of Robinson, a daughter: Jani Bryant and husband Roland of China Spring, father of her children, C. B. Tankersley of Waco, a sister Rose Rhodes and husband Henry, grandchildren, Janessa Santry and husband Jonathan of Speegleville, Jenna Tankersley and fiancée Max Martin of Corpus Christi, Blake Bryant and wife Kristie of West, Brandon Bryant and wife Amanda of Wylie, Blain Bryant of Lake Whitney; great grandchildren Lucas and Cole Bryant of West, MacKenzie and Allison Bryant all of Wylie, many nieces and nephews.
