In Texas today, 17 percent of the general population has German ancestry; this percentage is also true for Bosque County. Citizens with Norwegian first ancestries make up six percent of the population. Whereas the immigration of the Norwegians to Texas, and Bosque County is widely documented, much less is known of the settlement of the German immigrants to the area.
