Walnut Springs knocked out

ARLINGTON - In a wild, see-saw battle, the balanced tipped in the wrong direction in the end for the Walnut Springs Hornets. Despite taking the lead twice in the fourth quarter, the Hornets could not hold off Savoy as the Cardinals rallied for a dramatic 38-36 Class Six-Man, Division I bi-district victory last Friday night. Tony Chavez scored three touchdowns and Noel Chavez threw for two scores in the loss. Savoy (7-3) knocked Walnut Springs out of the playoffs last year as well as the Cardinals handing the Hornets a 34-26 loss in 2012.
