Richard Sexton 55, of Aquilla, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney with Rev. Darrell Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Clifton Memorial Park, in Clifton, Texas. Richard was born on July 3, 1958, in Texas City, to Lloyd James Sr. and Joyce Faylene (Pilant) Sexton. On Aug. 20, 1977, he married Karen Kelley in Clifton. Richard enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren who meant the world to him. He and his sons enjoyed competing in barbeque cook-offs. Some of Richards favorite pastimes were fishing and watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. Richard was employed by
the Aquilla I.S.D. where he worked for the past 10 years. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, a nephew, Bobby Smith, and niece Tammie Smith. Survivors include his wife, Karen Sexton, of Aquilla; children, Jason Sexton and wife, Nicole of Whitney, Joshua Sexton and Colby Sexton of Aquilla; brother, Lloyd James Sexton, Jr. and wife, Pat of Valley Millls; sister, Suzanne Smith and husband, Wayne of Belton; grandchildren, Jaxon Sexton, and Jacey Sexton of Whitney; and many nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
