The Clifton Record'
Shelby Crocket, a 15-year participant in the Central Texas Youth Fair and a 10-year member of Bosque County 4-H, decided that since this is her last year to participate, she would showcase not only her sewing talents, but her multitude of winning ribbons, by designing and sewing a quilt.
Crockett explained, in a letter attached to the quilt, “I first participated in the pet show at the age of two, winning reserve champion – you can see the ribbon, it’s the second pink ribbon for the top.”
Crockett notes that she has shown goats for 10 years and has entered the Home Economics Show for 12 years – winning a multitude of awards over the years.
“While winning is fun, the experience of the fair is the real prize and with it comes a treasure chest of memories that continue to make me smile today,” said Crockett.
