Patsy Leck Armstrong Farwell
On February 7, 2013 Patsy Leck Armstrong Farwell passed into heaven at Providence Hospital in Waco. She was surrounded by her family and her Pastor, Rev. Brian McQuiggin. A graveside service will be held April 7 at 2 p.m. in the Clifton Lutheran Cemetery. Patsy was born on July 27, 1945 to Herbert Albert Leck and Melba Morris Leck Scott. She lived in the farming community of Womack until the age of 9 when the family’s home burned and they moved into town. She attended Clifton schools all her life and was confirmed into the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clifton in 1959. She remained a member of that church all her life although in later years she was unable to attend services so Pastors would visit her in her home. In 1962 she married Michael Armstrong from Glen Rose. There were four children born to this union: a son, Michael and three daughters, Julie, Karen, and Angela. Patsy graduated from McLennan Community College Magnum com Laude with a degree in nursing in 1973. In 1987 she married Bill Farwell. She worked in several local hospitals, nursing homes and was a visiting nurse supervisor for several years until Multiple Sclerosis forced her into early retirement. Patsy is survived by her son, Michael Armstrong of Ft. Worth; her daughter, Angela Cagle and grandson, T.J.Crenshaw of Forney; her sister, Rita and Raymond Preuitt of Lebanon, TN, her brother, Kenneth and Janice Leck of Bay City, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alice and Albert Leck and Mae and R.T. Wilson, mother and father, Herbert Leck and Melba Leck Scott, her step-father, Charlie B (Jack) Scott, and her two daughters, Julie and Karen Armstrong. Patsy was loved by her family and friends and she will be missed on earth but she is singing and dancing in heaven. Something she was not able to do for many of her last years. Rest in Peace, Patsy. In lieu of flowers the family has asked the donations be made in Patsy’s honor to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
