Clifton’s Zach Potts delivers from mound against the Moody Bearcats on Tuesday at Clifton Ball Park.

The Clifton Cubs hosted the Moody Bearcats in a district 21-AA contest on Tuesday March 19. “The Cubs needed extra innings to finally prevail, 6-5,” said Coach Brian Slater. Moody started with a bang against Cub starter Zach Potts scoring five runs in the first inning. An error and two walks loaded the bases for the Bearcats. Four straight hits after the walks allowed the big five-run inning. The Cubs answered back in the bottom of the first with two runs of their own. Jaren Brooks started things off with a single and later scored on a RBI single by Kyler Kleibrink. Shane Sibila then singled in pinch runner Aaron Allen for the second run of the inning.
