Martha Tay Adams
Martha Tay Adams, 81, passed
away Thursday morning, Feb. 7,
2013 at her residence in Walnut
Springs. Funeral services were
held Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Walnut
Springs Baptist Church with
Brady Dempsey and Chaplain Steve
Durbin officiating. Interment was in
the Oak Grove Cemetery in Walnut
Springs.
Mrs. Adams was born Sept. 8, 1931 in Philadelphia,
Miss., in the Bond Community, to Oscar E. Daniels and
Emma Sue McKay Daniels. On Sept. 1, 1956 she married
Billy Joe Adams.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Walnut
Springs Baptist Church. She and her husband lived in Angleton,
for nearly 40 years until moving to Walnut Springs
in 1990.
Survivors include husband, Billy Joe Adams of Walnut
Springs; daughters, Beverly Huffman and husband, Mike,
of Walnut Springs; Patricia Bland of Angleton; grandchildren,
Amanda Cumberland Goyer and husband, Justin,
Todd Cumberland, Mindy Huffman Davis and husband,
Matt, Kelly Huffman Worrell and husband, Cody, Brandon
Adams, and James Hardin; great-grandchildren, Kelby, Emily,
Lily, Noah, Russell, and Ava; and a number of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and
Emma Sue Daniels; sons, Reggie Cumberland and Don
Cumberland; and brothers, Jack, Dudley, and Percy Daniels.
Pallbearers were Billy Adams, Scotty Adams, Luke Page,
James Hardin, Lonnie Adams, and Mike Warnick
